SJI International School, Singapore – Teacher feedback

SJI International School has been a user of an online Mathematics Package for some time, so when introduced to Mangahigh, we were sceptical.

What could this offer that our existing package could not? The answer became clear as soon as we trialled it with a class of weaker Grade 9
students!

“I got a bronze”
“Jonathan, I hate you, you beat me, I’m going to get you back”
“NOOOOOOOO, so close, let me try again”

Mangahigh is easy to use and offers clear learning objectives. The adaptive database of questions allows students to progress at their own pace,
without continually repeating easier work. The reporting functions show the teacher clearly how students have performed, and results can be
exported directly into a markbook.

The huge difference between Mangahigh and other providers of online schemes is that Mangahigh is fun!  Students love it – they love the competitive element. I had Grade 9 boys staying in after the bell had gone and all through break, still trying to get their name in the number one spot on the leaderboard. Other students log in at home to improve scores further, even when this is not required. I am often asked when we can go back to the IT room to use Mangahigh again.

I can thoroughly recommend this package to schools. It is not cheap, but in terms of value-for-money, it will be a very well used resource that can have real impact on motivation, progress, and ultimately results.
